Tracy

On an adaptive dive trip to Cozumel we met Tracy. During the week we figured out that she lived within a few hours of us. Shortly after meeting her she moved even closer and we are about an hour apart now.

Before being diagnosed with ALS she was a Master Scuba Diver. She saw herself as a diver, it was part of her identity. Adaptive diving has made it possible for Tracy to keep diving and just as important she kept her identity. She now dives with hand paddles and a full face mask. She controls the entire dive with her team close by to help when she needs it.

While on a trip with Diveheart, our certification agency, they had a documentary filmed. The filming was done on the boats, underwater and in interviews. It was so fun to be part of the filming. Most of the people in the film went to the premier of Adapting to Dive. We all walked the red carpet and had pictures taken with David, the film maker. You can find the documentary on Amazon. David also put together a wonderful short video of Tracy where she tells her diving story.
