We began signing up for scuba lessons with Dale as an incentive for good grades for my 14 year old son. An amazing thing happened. My son blossomed under Dale’s instruction- he became more confident because of his new skills, and school became the way to get more scuba diving instead of the biggest thing to be dreaded. He finished his first year in high school with all A’s and B’s!

It was amazing to watch a kid who always said “I can’t!” begin to start saying “I’ll try.” After a dive or two, the words actually became “I can!” We will always be thankful for Dale, truly a teacher that has heart and instincts that can only be described as wonderful.

Skitter on the autism spectrum, is certified with PADI and as an adaptive diver through Diveheart. He joined us on a trip to Roatan and loved the clear warm water teaming with so much life. During the trip, when asked if anyone in particular had assisted him, Skitter responded, "It would be a shorter list to ask who didn’t help me. In fact, that list would be empty."

“There is so much to see and nothing cares that I am down there with it.”
