Diveheart Advanced Adaptive Buddy, Board of Directors, Veteran Lesion
Hi, My name is Brandon. I am on the Board of Directors for Scuba Access for Everyone (S.A.F.E) and have been on the S.A.F.E Board since Dale came up with the concept. As a veteran and avid scuba diver, I jumped at the opportunity to share my passion for diving with fellow veterans and people at large.
My love affair with diving began in 2009, when I first was certified while stationed at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. I had always loved the water and after experiencing what it was like to breath underwater, I knew there was no turning back. Upon return to the mainland, I learned that not only do people dive in the tropics, but cold-water as well. This is where I first met Dale, who opened my eyes to the opportunities afforded with diving in the Pacific Northwest. When Dale let me know that he was interest in starting a non-profit aimed at helping those with disabilities, civilian and military alike, I knew I had to become involved. Like many of the other Board members, I became a certified Advanced Buddy Diver through Diveheart. Shortly there after, I had the opportunity to put this certification to the test in Cozumel. To say that the trip was life changing would be an understatement. Scuba diving was transformational for me personally and having the chance to give others the same opportunity has been and continues to be a highlight of my life. As S.A.F.E continues to grow, I look forward to having the ability to continue sharing the magic that Scuba diving offers with others.
